ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the application effect of the experiential learning in the soft skills training of nursing students. Methods Using convenient sampling method to select one grade nursing students form a school in Guangzhou as the research objects, two classes were divided into the control group and the experimental group. The experimental group was trained by experiential learning, and the control group was trained by traditional teaching methods. After the training, the differences of nursing soft skills between the two groups were compared to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of experiential learning in improving nursing soft skills. Results After training, the total score of nursing soft skills in the experimental group was 156.94 ± 13.97 and the control group was 150.61 ± 12.58, the difference was statistically significant (t=-2.039,P<0.05). Nearly 91.4%(32/35) of nursing students were satisfied or very satisfied with the training methods of experiential learning and nursing students thought that ability or cognitive were promoted and the top three were: interpersonal communication ability, cognition of nursing soft skills, and nursing service etiquette. Nearly 82.9% (29/35) of nursing students expressed that they were willing to receive nursing soft skills training in experiential learning. Conclusions Experiential learning can effectively improve nursing soft skills of nursing students and it is suitable for promotion and application in nursing teaching.

ABSTRACT

Under the premise of radical resection in the treatment, it is of great significance to preserve partial gastric function so that the early gastric cancer (EGC) patients' postoperative quality of life (QOL) can be improved. In the patients with EGC in the upper third of the stomach, the emphasis is on the prevention of reflux esophagitis caused by bile and gastric juice reflux. Pylorus-preserving gastrectomy (PPG) is applicable to the patients with EGC in the middle third of the stomach. In the patients with EGC in the lower third of the stomach, distal gastrectomy (DG) is performed in general. Various anastomosis ways are applied to reduce the negative impact of pylorus resection after DG. Furthermore, it should also be considered that reasonable vagal nerves preservation and lymph node dissection are both important for function preserving gastrectomy of EGC. Rational use of laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy has advantages of lower invasiveness, faster recovery, etc. And the amplification effect of laparoscope can contribute to preserving nerves and gastric function.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the protective effect of Diclipterachinensis polysaccharide P2B on liver cell line L-02 injury in-duced by carbon tetrachloride ( CCl4 ) . Methods:The human liver L-02 cells were cultured, and the injury model was built by CCl4 . The L-02 cells were divided into the normal control group, the CCl4-damaged group, and the P2B sample groups (0. 125, 0. 250 and 0. 500 mg· ml-1 ). The contents of alanine aminotransferase ( ALT), aspartate aminotransferase ( AST), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were determined by MTT assay. Results:Compared with the CCl4-damaged group, P2B could improve the activity of L-02 cells, and the activity of AST and ALT in the supernatant was significantly reduced, and the content of SOD in the cells was increased and that of MDA was decreased. Conclusion:P2B can significantly prevent L-02 cells from the damage induced by CCl4 in a dose-dependent manner, and the mechanism may be related with the anti-oxidative activity of P2B.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>The aim of the present study was to evaluate the modulating effect of glycyrrhizic acid C-18 epimers, 18alpha-glycyrrhizic acid (alpha-GL) and 18beta-glycyrrhizic acid (beta-GL) on both P-glycoprotein (P-gp) activity and expression in Caco-2 cell.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>The effects of P-gp activity were analyzed by rhodamine (Rhd 123) accumulation test, and those of P-gp expression were analyzed by flow cytometry and real-time PCR.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>At middle and high concentrations (10, 60 micromol x L(-1)), alpha-GL inhibited the function of P-gp and with on dose dependent while beta-GL induced the function of P-gp at three test concentrations with no dose dependent too. At middle and high concentrations (10, 60 micromol x L(-1)), alpha-GL down-regulated the expression of MDR1 mRNA. At high concentrations (60 micromol x L(-1)), beta-GL up-regulated the expression of MDR1 mRNA; At high concentrations (60 micromol x L(-1)), beta-GL induced the expression of P-gp protein while alpha-GL has no effect on the expression of P-gp protein at three test concentrations.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The effects of alpha-GL and beta-GL on the expression of MDR1 mRNA and CYP3A mRNA showed the same trend. The character that epimers of GL act on CYP3A and P-gp show similar stereo selectivity whether relate to PXR need further study.</p>
